A 5k?

Wow, you must really have great faith in me. I haven't worked out for the past 2 days, my body anyway.... I've had 2 exams tonoght and studying for them last night. Friday workout, here I come! My body is still pretty sore from the day before though, ugh.

Ask me about the 5k again after our 60 days is over! ;)

*gasp*

Just finished 10 minutes of Jillian Michaels, that's right - 10 minutes. Prior to starting the video, I watched it and thought... jumping jacks, mountain climbers, push-ups, I have this in the bag.

Well, this was me:

20 jumping jacks, 16 push ups, 20 (or so) squats *gasp*, back to jumping jacks *gasp*, push ups *wheeze* *gasp* *wheeze* FLOOR.

I made it through 10 minutes of the 20 minute tape. That's a good start, right?

The eve of the challenge

I've been wanting to take on a fitness challenge, to look better (of course) but also to feel better. Jay and I had been going to the gym daily for about two months, but we both fell off the wagon after the holidays and school started. The lunch hour that was being utilized for gym time is now being used to study.

Amanda and I talked about our mutual desire to get motivated and agreed that making our challenge public may be just the motivation we need to make it happen.

I've checked out the latest fitness stuff, P90x, Turbo Jam, Get Yourself Xtremely Ripped... (or whatever). Lots of people seem to be jumping on the P90x wave, but reviews seem to indicate that the host is very annoying and I am very put off at the $120 price tag. After reading mountains of reviews, I finally purchased Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred. The reviews were positive and it was $9 at WalMart. I'm not super positive that I can do it, but I'm going to give a good go! I've watched it a couple of times, just to get a good idea of what I am in for, and it looks pretty do-able.

I too am wondering what to do about the before/after pictures. I'd like to do it for my personal motivation, but really really really don't want to get my overweight over muffin over everthingness immortalized. We'll see.

So... I sit here with my cheetos, enjoying them while I can, tomorrow is the first day of our journey towards two fitter healthier sisters!
